BLACKLIGHT
Black Light Theatre is a unique form of theater that originated in the Czech Republic in the mid-20th century. It is performed on a completely dark stage, with actors wearing fluorescent costumes or using fluorescent props to create a luminous effect under ultraviolet light. The actors are dressed in black and blend in with the black background, so the audience can only see the fluorescent part, thus creating the illusion of objects “floating” or “disappearing”. Black light theater usually has no lines and relies on body language, music and visual effects to convey the story and emotions. This form of theater is known for its mysterious visual effects and fantastical stage performances.
